2003 Sterling Vintner’s Collection Cabernet Sauvignon

Today was my roommate’s 28th birthday. Seeing as how the media plastered the TV with reminders that today was daylight savings, we got enough sleep to enjoy the day. And, what a day it was. Sun shine and 76 degrees. So, we decided to have a french style picnic, but with a Sonoma wine twist.

Roberto and Sami both mentioned that they liked the Sterling Vineyard set of wines, but I had no idea what I was in store for. The nose had boisterous notes of black currant, mixed berries and a touch of oak. My palette was filled with such a juicy bouquet of ripe berries and the texture was just the perfect touch of thickness to know that greatness was being had. The finish was medium in duration, yet exceptionally smooth. This one has definitely made my Top-10 List.
