Moulin d’Eole
Once again, I tried another red French wine. Even as I am trying to write this, I am having to really find out where the wine is made and what grape it is made from. Here’s the skinny on it.
The winery: Moulin d’Eole
Country: France
Region: Languedoc Roussillon
Apellation: Costieres de Nimes
Price: $8.99 at Whole Foods market
That region is really well known for its vin de pays (table wines) more than anything else, so as a budget drinker, that is a good region to get an everyday wine. For my taste buds I found the wine to be a bit sour. But, it was much better as I continued to let it breathe. It needed about 15 minutes of breathing vs. the standard 5. Not a complex wine, so I can’t give you much in the sense of flavors, but as my friend who has gone on a wine tour of France said, “that is a good reliable southern French wine.”
