Bushman’s Gully in United First
I had the wonderful experience of being able to trade in some flight coupons to upgrade to United First, the first class seats, for a flight from Chicago back to San Jose. During the flight, there was a good meal (Santa Fe Chicken Salad) and I opted to have a red wine for the evening.
Bushman’s Gully 2005
Cabernet Sauvignon
South Eastern Australia
Produced by the Warburn Estate in New South Whales
Price: 4 - 500 mile flight coupons (or $11.99 from NetForNepal.com )
This cab is a great wine to have for a simple meal to add color and texture. I would recommend this wine for salads with meats, and vegetable friendly meals. Why? Becasue is has enough body and flavor to steal the show, yet it has a slight hint of fruit and spice to accompany nearly any vegetable. The head has a touch of the classic black currant, with an incredibly smooth finish and after notes of berries.
Note - Giuseppe Sergi immigrated to Australia in 1952 from Europe to start the Warburn Vineyards.
